CBP Agriculture Specialist (Biological Threat Ops Specialist)
About this role
Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Inspecting protocols to identify threats, determine admissibility, and provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders and knowledge of federal laws, agricultural and biological regulations (including APHIS and CITES). Utilizing automated databases and intelligence tools to conduct risk assessments, and perform link analysis, identify emerging agro/bio-terrorism threats.
Serving as a technical expert and tactical analyst who integrates risk management, intelligence-led targeting, and comprehensive regulatory knowledge to identify. Communicating with parties internal and external to CBP that have nexus to the movement of cargo and people. Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Analyzing a wide variety of agriculture-related material, pests or diseases including the very difficult, complex and unusual finds submitted by other agriculture inspection personnel Serving as a consultant in identifying a wide range of insects and related pests associated with the inspection of conveyances and passengers Serving as a trouble-shooter, handling the most unusual agriculture commodity or pest problems Compiling data, maintain logs, and preparing reports on inspection operations NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
