CATEGORY MANAGER – ALCOHOL & WINE Location: Budapest, Jászberényi street Department: Commercial / Category Management Alcohol & Wine isn't just another aisle at Rohlik—it's a key growth driver, a destination for our customers, and a category where brand, quality, and commercial strategy intersect. As Category Manager – Alcohol & Wine, you will own the commercial performance of this portfolio. You’ll be responsible for shaping the assortment, setting pricing and promotional strategies, and building high-impact partnerships with top beverage suppliers.
This is a hands-on commercial role where you will directly influence category revenue, margins, and the overall customer proposition. Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, you won't just manage existing lines—you’ll actively hunt for new trends, optimize supplier terms, and build a winning alcohol offering that keeps our customers coming back. WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING - Direct commercial ownership: You will fully own the performance, sales, and margins of a high-visibility, high-volume category.
- Build and elevate the offer: From mainstream staples to premium spirits and niche wines, you’ll shape what hundreds of thousands of customers see and buy every day. - Negotiation power and scope: You’ll lead commercial reviews, Joint Business Planning, and term negotiations directly with major FMCG and specialized alcohol suppliers. - Data-driven freedom: We move fast and operate without corporate bureaucracy—if the data supports a new trend, product launch, or strategy, you have the room to execute it.
- Cross-functional impact: You’ll collaborate directly with Marketing on high-impact seasonal campaigns and partner with Supply Chain to ensure top-tier availability. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Own category performance: Deliver on sales, margin, and profitability targets across assigned Alcohol & Wine categories. - Drive supplier management: Lead commercial negotiations, annual reviews, and Joint Business Planning to secure the best terms, innovations, and growth opportunities.
- Optimize assortment & pricing: Continuously evaluate the product mix, pricing structures, and promotions to maintain a competitive and profitable customer offer. - Launch & innovate: Drive the end-to-end commercial evaluation and market launch for new products, seasonal activations, and brand expansions. - Analyze & act: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and internal data to translate sales insights into concrete commercial actions.
