Budget Analyst (Hiring Event)

About this role

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Experience evaluating budget estimates, summarizing budgets, and submitting recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests. Experience researching, drafting, or coordinating recommendations in response to budget-related inquiries from internal and external customers. Experience recommending solutions and/or corrective actions for financial issues. Experience using financial databases, systems, and spreadsheets to accomplish budget/execution related tasks.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Business Information Systems, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in Accounting, Budget Analysis, Financial Analysis, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.

As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to 1 year of experience. Candidates should show their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years experience in Accounting, Budget Analysis, Financial Analysis, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties associated with this work. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: Demonstrated experience reviewing, analyzing and advising stakeholders regarding budgetary data.
