GENERAL EXPERIENCE is experience, education, or training involving skills in applying problem solving techniques; and skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan and organize work. Competencies in analysis, research, writing, and judgment typically gained through college education or progressively responsible experiences. Ability to follow established methods and procedures; use practical knowledge of the operations, procedures, and policies of specific program areas or functional assignment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION is experience and/or which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience, Education, or a combination of both as described below: Specialized Experience - Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-07.
Must have experience, education, or training of finance budget competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Candidate must have a good understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the National Guard financial budget business program requirements. A candidate must have experiences and training that demonstrate the abilities to follow directions, to read, retain, and understand a variety of instructions, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Serves as the functional point of contact for day-to-day budget/financial issues. Performs budget formulation work involving review and preparation of budget estimates and financial plans. Performs budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of funds. Monitors, tracks, and reviews obligations, expenditures, reimbursable orders, and requests for allotments, identifying and reporting differences that are not in keeping with annual work plans.
OR Education - Possess a master's, an equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. NOTE: In order to be considered for this position using education as a basis of qualification, you must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination - A combination of Specialized Experience and Education as described above. Only graduate education in excess to 1 full year of graduate level education may be used when combining education and experience to meet the total qualification requirements.
