QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position may include: Interpreting tax laws and issuances, Internal Revenue Code and Manual, procedures and regulations to recommend changes to guidelines/procedures, develop job aids and/or tax law training materials.

Performing a review and analysis of all phases of the Automated Underreporter Program (AUR), including AUR spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) to create, revise, formulate, and filter specific data. Experience with the AUR inventory control process and assisting managers and leads with inventory management, batch management including assigning and releasing work. Communicating orally and in writing with others including AUR headquarters staff regarding the AUR work process.

Assisting AUR lead tax examiners and management to answer questions from employees and management to assist with resolving cases and issues. Training employees on a variety of AUR processes, procedures and unique issues. Utilizing IDRS and master file processing, adjustment procedures and account transaction codes sufficient to reconstruct prior actions on accounts. Identifying and resolving problems within organizational procedures, functional programs, operations, and processes.

Utilizing analytical and evaluating methods and techniques including statistical process control measures to extract pertinent data. Determining the nature of assistance through interviewing techniques. OR A PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that demonstrated the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work. OR Three (3) full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree in a related field of study that demonstrated the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work.
