IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented professional with an interest in auditing, financial analysis, and program evaluation. They possess strong critical thinking skills and can gather, organize, and analyze information to identify issues, assess risks, and develop practical recommendations. The candidate communicates effectively, works collaboratively with stakeholders, and demonstrates the ability to learn and apply laws, regulations, and professional auditing standards in a fast-paced environment.
They are adaptable, inquisitive, and motivated to develop into a full-performance Auditor. To be eligible for the recent graduate appointment, ALL of the following requirements must be met: Pathways Recent Graduate Requirement: Must have completed within the previous two years, a qualifying associate, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution; OR Preference eligible veterans who were precluded from applying due to their military service obligation begin their 2-year eligibility period upon release or discharge from active duty.
Eligibility for these veterans cannot exceed 6 years from the date on which the degree (certification and/or career/technical program) was completed. Applicants that are expected to graduate in the next 60 days from the closing date of this announcement may apply, however you will not be appointed until your degree/certificate has been conferred. Include your expected graduation date on your resume and provide current transcripts.
In addition to the appointment requirement; applicants must meet both Basic Education Requirements and Minimum Qualification Requirements: BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law; OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
