Associate Scientist

About this role

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Associate Scientist to support the characterization, validation, and placement of late-stage hybrids. In this remote role, you will help ensure experimental hybrids meet environmental stress standards for deployment while supporting field evaluations and data collection to confirm regional adaptation. This is an opportunity to combine field-based expertise, scientific evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration to help advance and deploy high-performing products for growers.

Accountabilities: Product Characterization: Conduct field visits within the assigned region to evaluate hybrids, collect adaptation notes, and support hybrid characterization. Late-Stage Hybrid Advancement: Provide technical and scientific support for hybrid advancement and deployment discussions, helping teams make informed product placement decisions. Field Evaluation: Support field note evaluation and data collection to confirm regional adaptation and environmental stress performance.

Deployment Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records for assigned experiments in accordance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with scientific and business functions to support product characterization, advancement, and deployment. Required: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Operations Management, or a related field 4+ years of experience in agricultural trial evaluation or a related field Demonstrated industry expertise in hybrid deployment Strong understanding of seed industry processes and hybrid deployment Experience independently managing time and priorities in a field-based environment Expertise in statistical interpretation and the ability to apply data to product evaluation Ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences Strategic thinking and strong business acumen, with the ability to connect scientific research to commercial objectives Willingness and ability to travel domestically Preferred: Experience supporting late-stage hybrid advancement, characterization, or product placement Experience working collaboratively across scientific, commercial, and field-based teams Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship A designated pool vehicle may be provided for business travel; employees who elect to use a personal vehicle may be eligible for travel reimbursement This is a six-month, peak-season opportunity designed to provide critical support during our busiest time of year, offering hands-on experience with late-stage hybrid characterization and field-based product development.
