AIRFIELD MANAGER
About this role
Conditions of Employment cont. This is a KEY position. The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,") Position requires access to firearms.
Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence may not occupy this position in accordance with the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968, as amended 30 Sep 96. Employee must sign DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition. This is a Supervisory Position. A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Transportation Operations Series, 2150.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; the maintenance of inventories and cost computations; knowledge of DOD, Federal Aviation Administration, International Civil Aviation rules, and other applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and directives as they pertain to airfield standards, air traffic control, aircraft operations characteristics, and airfield management; Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency airfield management and flight planning principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to the full range of airfield management responsibilities on a military installation and the relationship of these activities to the air traffic system.
