AI Developer Advocate
About this role
About TensorOps TensorOps is a boutique AI consultancy and OpenAI’s first partner in Portugal. We bridge strategy and execution, designing and shipping production-grade AI systems for enterprise clients, from Fortune 500 companies to fast-growing unicorns. Our work spans agentic AI, LLM fine-tuning, RAG systems, and ML-driven products, deployed on AWS, GCP, and Azure. We’re a small, remote team where people work closely together and take ownership.
Now, we’re looking for an engineer who enjoys sharing knowledge and bringing technical people together. The role You’ll own and grow our AI developer community, combining hands-on engineering with technical content, workshops and relationships that turn newcomers into regular participants and contributors. You’ll work directly with our engineers to uncover useful lessons, build examples and share them through content, workshops and conversations.
What you’ll do Build the community: develop relationships with developers, speakers, organizers and partners; run recurring meetups and workshops; grow repeat participation and help members become contributors, speakers and organizers themselves. Translate engineering into narratives: turn technical projects, architectural decisions and lessons learned into clear articles, tutorials and talks, respecting client confidentiality.
Build and teach: create working AI demos and lead practical sessions, explaining implementation choices and trade-offs. Represent TensorOps: speak at conferences, participate in relevant communities and bring useful feedback into our team. What you bring Hands-on engineering ability: you have professionally built and shipped software, and you’re comfortable writing code, debugging problems and explaining architectural trade-offs.
Hands-on AI experience: you can independently build AI applications and discuss their limitations, architecture and practical challenges. Strong communication: you can turn complex engineering into engaging stories and teach technical audiences in English and Portuguese. Other languages are a plus. Community building: you’ve built or helped grow a technical community, meetup series or open-source project. You can explain what you owned, what brought people back and how the community developed.
