Account Executive - Technology
About this role
At Mercury, building our customer base has been a wild and exciting adventure—and we’re just getting started. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a thoughtful, driven Account Executive to help more founders, finance leaders, and business owners discover and thrive with Mercury. Over the past two years, we've significantly expanded our startup customer base and we’re continuing on that journey to support even more startups and teams on Mercury.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with founders and finance leaders helping them shape the future of their finance stack with Mercury at the center. You’ll uncover pain points tied to current operations, run point on complex evaluations with multiple-products, and simplify the migration process across their full-stack into Mercury. As an Account Executive, you’ll work directly with founders, business owners, and finance teams to deeply understand their operational needs and guide them to the right financial tools.
You’ll immerse yourself in their ecosystems and uncover pain points to help them build great businesses with Mercury. Here are some things you'll do on the job: Run cold outbound-driven sales cycles to convert leads into long-term Mercury partners Go deep to uncover business cases and pain that aren't obvious on the surface Sell across multiple products in longer, more strategic cycles Multi-thread across stakeholders and build champions inside the account Build mutual action plans and drive deals forward on a shared timeline Influence requirements in Mercury's favor as accounts evaluate their options Orchestrate multiple stakeholders and moving pieces at once without dropping the thread Own and expand the relationship across the first 90 days of the customer journey What we're looking for: 1+ year of closing experience, primarily cold outbound-driven, in SaaS, fintech, or similar Track record of converting cold leads into long-term partners, not just first meetings Comfortable running multi-product, strategic selling cycles rather than single-product transactional ones Skilled at building pain and urgency even when the account isn't presenting it themselves Experience multi-threading, building champions, and influencing requirements in a competitive process *Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank.
